Terms of Service

1. Services

Local Expert Handyman provides handyman, repair, and remodeling services in Alexandria, VA and surrounding Northern Virginia areas. All services are performed by licensed and insured professionals. The scope of each project is defined in a separate written estimate or agreement provided before work begins.

2. Quotes and Estimates

All quotes and estimates provided are free of charge and carry no obligation. Written estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Final pricing may vary if the scope of work changes during the project. We will notify you of any changes before proceeding.

3. Scheduling and Cancellations

Appointments are scheduled upon mutual agreement. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. We reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to weather, emergencies, or circumstances beyond our control.

For projects requiring a deposit, cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled start time may result in forfeiture of the deposit.

4. Payment Terms

• Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• We accept cash, check, and major credit cards.
• For larger projects, a deposit may be required before work begins.
• Invoices unpaid after 30 days may incur a late fee of 1.5% per month.

5. Warranty

We stand behind our work. Our labor carries a 1-year workmanship warranty from the date of project completion. Materials and products are subject to the manufacturer's warranty. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, acts of nature, or modifications made by others after our work is completed.

6. Customer Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about the project scope and property conditions.
• Ensure safe and accessible work areas.
• Notify us of any hazardous materials (lead paint, asbestos, mold) before work begins.
• Obtain any required permits unless we have agreed to handle permits in writing.

7. Limitation of Liability

Local Expert Handyman's liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. We carry general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage for all team members.

8. Website Use

Our website is provided for informational purposes only. We make no warranties about the accuracy or completeness of website content. You agree not to use our website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the site.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Fairfax County or Alexandria City, Virginia.
